im cooking lobs till 90, then monks till 94 then shark, will be playing 3 to 7 hours a day, how long will it take to reach 99, plz answerHow long will it take me to get 99 cooking from 85 doing lobster till 90 then monks, then shark, 3hrs/day?
Well, in an intense hour of cooking you cook around 1k of anything. So from 85 to 90 you need to cook 17398 lobs. Then from 90-94 you need to cook 17322 monk fish. From 94- 99 You need to cook 24238 sharks. It will take you about 60 hours of cooking. And if you play 3 hours a day it will take you 2-3 weeks. Good luck to getting 99.How long will it take me to get 99 cooking from 85 doing lobster till 90 then monks, then shark, 3hrs/day?

Does it hurt lobsters to be cooked alive?
What is true, is it painful for them if not, how do they die?Does it hurt lobsters to be cooked alive?
Would it hurt you?Does it hurt lobsters to be cooked alive?
IF cooked wrong then yes it may hurt them But if you cook them correctly not only will they taste better they will also feel no pain.
INstead of putting the lobster into a pot of boiling water put them in a pot of cold water and bring it to the boil with the lobster inside.
This way the gradual increase in the lobsters body temperature is not realized and will die without being stressed making the meat taste even better.
Researchers are divided on this; some say they feel pain and some say they don't. If they do, I compare it against other animals, and I'm sure chickens feel pain when their necks are broken, I feel bad about that, but I'm not a vegetarian. I think people are more worried about lobsters because they actually see them alive and have to kill them themselves. Lobster's don't scream, it's the steam passing under the shells that makes the sound (like a tea kettle whistling). And if you want to cook a lobster, the most humane way is to put it in the freezer for a while, then put it head first in a pot of water that's at a rolling boil. Cutting through the head with a knife is a reasonable second choice. Putting it in cold water and turning it up is the absolute worst thing you can do.
The live lobster will struggle, so there is a reaction. It is said that if you do not know how to boil a lobster, it will urinate into the water, thus spoiling it.....
Whether it hurts the same way it hurts humans for a lobster to be cooked alive, you will need to become one to find out....
It is true, it must be horribly painful for the poor lobster. It gets put into a big, boiling pot of water and gets fried alive... Hmm sounds painful! They die because they are getting boiled to death !
Gee what did the lobster ever do to the person who is boiling it?
yes, i heard that some people can actually hear the screams of lobsters when they put lobsters in boiling water.
But its only a few people that heard it.
You can put lobsters in ice bath for a few mins to numb it.
Then put them in the boiling water/steamer.
It's a living creature,of course it feels pain when it's boiled alive,it's a barbaric thing to do to any animal.
yes, its very painful, have you ever been burned? now imagine being burned all over your entire body, and not having the power to do anything about it
Probably. You can plunge a knife into the back of their neck to kill them immediately before cooking.
I would imagine that being thrown into a vat of boiling water wouldn't feel very good. Some say that you can hear them scream.
No, they love it. Just like chickens love having their heads chopped off and running around headless until they die.
DUH.
All things die when their blood boils.

How many protests have you heard of about animal rights activists protesting how lobsters are cooked alive?
When pest control companies use chemicals that attack the nervous system ( trust me I don't want the pests ) do the animal rights people protest shows like the Verminaters or do they only protest the ';cute'; animals? On the show Fear Factor contestants were expected to eat live insects ( or animal organs) as part of their challenge. I guess my question is do some animals have more rights than others? How many protests have you heard of about animal rights activists protesting how lobsters are cooked alive?
It seems to me that we are the only species on earth, who have rights, are humans and that these rights are becoming less important as time goes on.
Our governments are trying to protect themselves at expense of their people.
Animals only have the rights we give them as fame for their for the cuteness and more appeal they give to some celebrity making their publicity stance.
We need the ecosystem of animals and insects, even if they are pests. Without them we would'nt be able to function the way we do. Most insects either pollanate our food crops or rid us of other more malicious pests. We need animals for food, (not that I'm and advocate of vegetarianism).
For a balanced earth we need everything we have and do these people even care about our own children, (but that's another question. How many protests have you heard of about animal rights activists protesting how lobsters are cooked alive?
Thanks Gussie,
I think a balance of all in all is the only way to save this planet for future ganerations.
Take care.
You have the option of becoming Hindu, and giving animal rights to all organisms.
It is believe that the only organism that will survive a nuclear holocaust would be the cockroach, would hope if evolution brings man back to this planet the cockroach would show concern for human beings.
I don't really understand how one equates beating a baby seal to death with a baseball bat to boiling a lobster.

How do i catch the SLIPPERY LOBSTER. and how do i cook them...? do i need to clean them?
I think it's Slipper Lobster. You can boil them whole for about 20 minutes, or split them in half and broil them. I would remove the intestine that runs through the tail first. How do i catch the SLIPPERY LOBSTER. and how do i cook them...? do i need to clean them?

Crayfish. My son recently emigrated to Oz where these are very popular but isn't sure how to cook them?
does he immerse them in a pan of boiling water like lobster or can he cook them on the barbieCrayfish. My son recently emigrated to Oz where these are very popular but isn't sure how to cook them?
You should find some authentic Cajun recipes. We *love* crawfish and have an endless amount of recipes for them. I've never had saltwater varieties of crayfish, but I would assume they taste the same or very similar.
You just have to be careful not to overcook them. They cook quickly and become chewy when overdone, similar to shrimp.
If he can get some Zatarain's Liquid Shrimp %26amp; Crab Boil, he might like it. It tastes excellent with crawfish. Start off light, because it will be really hot if you use too much.
I recommend he try them in a good etouffee, jambalaya, gumbo, or stuffed bell peppers recipe. You can use other types of meat in these recipes too.
That yellow stuff at the head is just fat and adds flavor to recipes, so don't waste it. =)
P.S. Adding cayenne pepper to a recipe does NOT make it Cajun.Crayfish. My son recently emigrated to Oz where these are very popular but isn't sure how to cook them?
If fresh then the salted pot of water can be done. Place the lid on after immersing and depending on the size , cook until orangy/red coloured. I usually fill a jerry can of the sea water to cook mine in but then I live close to a beach and I do this to avoid adding salt and the taste is that little fresher still.
You mean saltwater crayfish? YUMMO. My grandfather had a cray boat in Western Australia and my earliest memories was of my nanna cooking up fresh crays in boiling water. She would have fresh crusty bread and butter and we would eat warm crayfish sandwiches with lemon, salt and pepper. So good!
I cook mine like shrimp, usually, dropping them in boiling water.
I've also killed them by spearing them behind the head, and then pulled the tail meat out, rolled it in cornmeal, and deep-fried them.
I imagine they could be barbequed as well.
any method of cooking works. They can be boiled/baked in the shell, de-shelled and barbecued/sauteed/fried etc. They're pretty much the same as prawns/shrimps.
Also, the shells make a good fish-stock.

Don't you think it's cool how lobsters are cooked?
Don't you just love it when you see/enjoy placing live lobsters in scalding, hot water and seeing them twitch violently? To topp it off, the air escaping their shell make it seem like they are ';crying.'; Lol, do you enjoy cooking, watching lobsters being cooked?Don't you think it's cool how lobsters are cooked?
I do feel bad for them but think about it this way.....they're basically big bugs! Their nervous system is so primitive that it can't register pain. The twitching that you see is just a reaction or stimulus to a change in the enviroment. With that said, pass the melted butter please!Don't you think it's cool how lobsters are cooked?
I don't drop mine in the boiling water until after I remove their tails, after, much after, they are dead, and ice several hours
Not cool at all. They have pain receptors, just like you.
No it's cruel, I won't eat lobster for that reason, how would you like to be scalded to death?
Any person with a heart kills it before it goes in the pot.
no i think it's a cruel way.

NO THATS VERY CRUEL!!!!! YOU HEARTLESS HEARTLESS PERSON...

I always wanted to try lobster. Does any one have suggestions on how to cook it?
And which parts of the lobster do you eat?I always wanted to try lobster. Does any one have suggestions on how to cook it?
Lobster Tips:
How to tell when a lobster is fully cooked:
The outer shell of the lobster will turn bright red. The meat should be white, opaque and firm. The tail will curl under and will resist your attempt to straighten it out. The two front antennae and walking legs of the lobster will pull out easily.
Are all lobsters the same?
The lobster found in the cold Northern East Atlantic waters from Maryland northwards are called (Latin) Homarus Americanus. These are a true lobster and in most New England states I think it may be ';Illegal'; to call anything else a lobster. Warmer water lobsters are technically a crayfish or Spiny Lobster. A true lobster has two large claws and a smoother shell. Both are delicious.

How to buy a fresh lobster:
Lobsters are sold or graded by size.
Chickens or Chix are 1 lb. Or less.
Quarters are over 1 lb.-2 oz. to 1 lb.-4oz.
Halves are 1 lb.-6oz. to 1 1/2 lb.
Three Quarters are over 1 1/2 lb. to 1 3/4 lbs.
Deuces are over 1 3/4 lbs. to 2 lbs.
2-3 lbs. are over 2 1/2 lb. to 3 lb.
Jumbos are 4 lbs. and up.
Quarters through Deuces are the most popular and are called ';Selects';
Missing a claw, you are a cull.
Do not buy a dead uncooked lobster. The stomach of a dead lobster continues to digest the lobster itself which can be both offensive and potentially dangerous to humans. If you flip a lobster upside down in your hand and the tail flops back towards the floor limp, it is likely dead or soon to be. Get one with some fight left in it!
How old is this thing?
A lobster takes about seven years to reach one pound in body weight. After that it takes about 4 years to gain each additional pound. A ';Four Pounder'; could be almost 20 years old.
Lobster Risotto
Ingredients:
4 ea 1-1.25# lobster (live)
1 onion (small, chopped)
5 oz unsalted butter (chilled in small cubes)
1 qt lobster stock (made from the lobster shells)
1 cup white wine (that you would drink)
10 oz arborio rice
2 oz grated Parmigiano-Reggiano (optional)
Salt %26amp; Pepper
Procedure:
Note: when buying lobster the smaller it is for its weight the fresher the lobster. Always buy the lobster that feels the heaviest for its' size. Lobster actually looses weight the longer it is kept in a tank, although the shell does not shrink. The lobster should be very lively with a hard shell.
Bring a large pot of heavily salted water (like seawater) to a boil. Separate the claws from the bodies of the lobster. Add the claws to the boiling water and cook for 3 minutes. Add the bodies and cook both for another three minutes. Put the bodies and claws directly into a large bowl of ice water and chill well.
Clean the meat from the shells being careful to keep the claws, knuckles and tail meat intact. Chill for use later. Make lobster stock using the shells and strain through a fine sieve. (call if you have questions about this).
Pre-heat the oven to 400f. Bring the stock to a boil in a deep pot. Saut茅 the onion and rice in a large pan. Add the wine and allow it to cook into the rice stirring constantly. Begin to ladle in the stock slowly allowing each ladle to be absorbed before adding the next. Stir gently as needed. When the rice is 3/4 cooked begin to add the butter slowly, allowing the rice to absorb it. With an additional knob of butter place the lobster tail and claw meat in the oven to heat. When the rice is cooked, but still nutty, add the lobster knuckle meat and allow the rice to thicken to a consistency that will just hold on the plate. Add the parmesan and season to taste. Rest the rice for two minutes.
Serve on a warm plate with the lobster on top of the rice and the butter from the lobster pan drizzled on the plate. ENJOY.
Classic Boiled Lobster
Available throughout the year, fresh lobsters should be purchased live and stored for only a few hours prior to cooking. It is imperative that lobster be cooked live or killed just prior to cooking. Here a fragrant lemon-herb dipping sauce complements the creamy white meat of the lobster.
Makes 8 servings
Preparation time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
1 cup butter
2 tablespoons lemon juice
4 teaspoons parsley, minced
4 teaspoons tarragon, minced
4 teaspoons watercress, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
8 lobsters, 1 1/2 pounds each
4 lemons, cut into wedges
Preparation:
Melt the butter in a skillet; add the lemon juice, parsley, tarragon, watercress, salt, and pepper. Transfer the dipping sauce to a bowl.
Fill an 8-quart stock pot two-thirds full of salted water and bring to a rolling boil. Add the lobsters, cooking in batches if necessary, and boil until they are bright red, 10 to 11 minutes.
Replenish the salted water as necessary and be sure to bring the water to a boil in between every batch.
Use tongs to place the lobsters on a platter. Serve with the lemon-herb dipping sauce and lemon wedges.
Tips for fabrication:
If fabricating the lobsters, wait for the first batch of lobsters to cool until they can be handled. The second batch of lobsters can be cooked while the first is cooling.
Separate the lobster in between the tail and the torso area. Make sure to do this over the sink or a bowl as there is quite a bit of liquid that will appear.
Separate the claws from the torso, as well as the knuckles from the claws.
Using kitchen shears, cut each edge of the underside of the tail shell and remove. The tail can be served in the shell or can now be removed in one piece.
Cut one side of the claw shell away using kitchen shears. The claw meat can be removed in one piece or served in the shell.
If desired, crack the shells of the knuckles with the heel of a chef knife and remove the meat. Be sure to cook the remaining batches of lobsters while fabricating the cooled ones.I always wanted to try lobster. Does any one have suggestions on how to cook it?
To cook lobster tail poach in real better from 4 to 6 minutes depends on the size. You can also eat the claws and legs, maybe the innerds if you are up to it. ENJOY
Buy your lobsters which must be alive and get a large kettle of lightly salted water boiling and when at a rolling full boil plunge the lobsters in headfirst and in about ten minutes they will be a bright red and then done and ready for eating.Serve with plenty of drawn (melted) butter. The tail has the larget piece of meat and the claws come next. Most of the front part is discarded. You will also need nutcrackers to break open the claws too.
Boiling is one of the simplest ways to cook a lobster, and is probably best for the squeamish that don't wish to cut up a live lobster with a knife.
Steaming is a great way to cook but not overcook a lobster's delicate meat. In order to properly steam a lobster, you need a sturdy and close to airtight steamer. The best steamer setup is a steamer insert inside a stockpot with a fitted, heavy lid.
To grill or bake a lobster, you must first cut it in half down the center. Make sure the rubber bands around the claws stay on during this process, as you don't want to be dodging the claws while cutting up the lobster.

Grilled Lobster with Potato Salad:
1 1/2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled
1/3 cup thawed frozen orange juice concentrate
1/4 cup lemon juice
4 teaspoons Dijon mustard
2/3 cup finely chopped green onions, including tops
Salt
4 spiny or rock lobster tails (1/2 lb. each), thawed if frozen
1/4 cup fresh salmon caviar (ikura, optional)
1. In a 5- to 6-quart pan over high heat, bring potatoes and 3 quarts water to a boil. Cover and simmer until potatoes are tender when pierced, 30 to 35 minutes. Drain. When potatoes are cool enough to touch, cut into 1/4- to 1/2-inch chunks.
2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, stir together orange juice concentrate, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and green onions. Add potato chunks and mix gently. Add salt to taste.
3. With scissors, cut lengthwise down the center of the top of each lobster shell. Set each tail, underside down, on a cutting board. Force a heavy knife through the cut in each shell to slice each lobster tail in half. Rinse lobster in shell.
4. Lay lobster on a lightly oiled grill over a solid bed of hot coals or high heat on a gas grill (you can hold your hand at grill level only 2 to 3 seconds); close lid on gas grill. Turn once to cook evenly until lobster is opaque but moist-looking in center of thickest part (cut to test), about 7 minutes.
5. Mound potato salad equally onto plates; top with caviar. Place 2 lobster halves around each salad portion.
Yield: 4 servings
If you want lobster...but more than just steamed, here are two recipes that I love to eat!
Lobster Roll
1 cup chopped celery (from 3 to 4 celery stalks), drained*
2 pounds freshly picked lobster meat, chilled and chopped into chunks, or 10 pounds live lobsters, steamed and meat removed
3/4 to 1 cup good quality mayonnaise
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) unsalted butter, softened
6 hot dog buns
*Cooks Note: When celery is chopped, it tends to release its natural moisture, which can water down the lobster salad and give it a soupy consistency. To avoid this, chop the celery, wrap it in a dry clean towel or several paper towels, and place in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes, allowing the towel to absorb any excess moisture.
In a medium bowl, combine the lobster meat, celery and mayonnaise and gently toss until well mixed. Season with the salt and pepper and chill for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight) before serving.
Preheat a large heavy skillet over medium flame. Lightly butter both sides of each bun and cook for 2 minutes per side, until golden brown. (The buns may also be toasted under a broiler.) When toasted, stuff them with the chilled lobster salad and serve immediately.
Lobster and Mango Summer Rolls
Segments of 1 lime
1 tablespoon fish sauce (3 Crab Brand)
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 pound pea sprouts
16 Thai basil leaves
1 package rice papers, 6 to 8-inch diameter
2 steamed lobster tails, chilled and sliced
1 large, ripe mango, sliced in long strips
In a large bowl, mix the lime, fish sauce and sugar well. Break up the lime segments. Toss with sprouts and basil. Check for seasoning. Lay out 1 rice paper wrapper and place a small mound of salad at the bottom. Top with lobster and mango. Roll bottom toward the middle. Fold in both sides and continue rolling. Finish roll and let rest. Individually wrap each roll with plastic wrap. Will hold for 2 hours in the refrigerator. Slice on the bias and serve on top of extra salad.
Just a suggestion: cooking a lobster from scratch is a bit of advanced cookery. If what you really want to do is find out what good lobster tastes like, I would suggest that you go to as good a seafood restaurant as you can afford and order it there. At least then you are reasonably assured that the lobster will be cooked correctly and you will probably have several choices as to how it is prepared.
As to the parts you eat, the claws and tail contain the bulk of the meat. The legs also have meat in them, and some people swear by the tomally (this is the lobster's liver) in the abdomen.
Good luck!

Good luck!
Easiest way to cook steak?
I bough my parents a steak and lobster dinner for Christmas- and I am preparing it for them. What is the easiest way for a teenager to cook steak and lobster-please give step by step instructions including what to give them so they can eat the lobster....i.e. how will they get the meat out? any butter sauce? thanks so much!Easiest way to cook steak?
Applause to YOU for cooking for the parents !! (I hope MY daughters are reading).
Even though I'm a GREAT fan of grilling, the EASIEST way to do a steak is in a good cast-iron (or very heavy aluminum) skillet.
Remove the steaks from the fridge and let them come to room temperature, season as you wish (I just sprinkle with a touch of salt, a heavy dose of black pepper, and a splash of Worcestershire). Heat the skillet until it's almost smoking, turn down to medium-high heat and at a tsp of olive oil, veggie oil, or butter. Toss in those steaks and don't touch them for 4 minutes... flip them once and pan-fry for another 4-5 minutes. Plate them and let them rest for 3-4 minutes so the juices settle back to their interior.
The Lobster... before starting the steaks, get a large pot of water boiling, and drop them on in... cook them per these directions: http://www.poollobster.com/cook-eat-boil鈥?/a>
LOOK at the cooking times and try to time the two to come complete within a minute or two.
Yes, I'd serve with melted butter... a baked potato, and perhaps some nice steamed or stir-fried veggies.Easiest way to cook steak?

grab a few spices that you like (like garlic lovers garlic) and have them at hand. you are going to use a stove top. It's the easiest way. I cook steak all the time and I just turned 13. Depending on how your parents like the steak, cook it until all the blood is gone (unless they want it medium rare or rare) and it looks nice and brown(don't worry if the steak is orange-ish, it's just the spices). Before you put the steak on, put butter or veggie oil on the pan. not too much, just enough to THINLY cover the pan. remember, too little is better than too much. Otherwise, this will literally be painful. cook at about 5-7 and put the steak on. put the spices on top of the steak and after about 3 minutes turn the steak over. put just a little salt on the bottom of the steak. turn it over in 3 minutes. do this about 2 times. Then, voila! It's done.
The easiest way to cook steak is to cook it in the oven. Just put the steak in a pan and season it with your choice of seasoning .. and cook it at 350. That is so simple. If you want to grill the steak -- just get the grill going .. season the steak .. then put the steak on the grill .. check on the steak frequently and turn it, too.
Easiest way is to broil it in the oven, it's also the fastest.

If you look closer at the rules, mine is the only one of the three that actually does not break any of them. Don't buy RuneScape gold, and don't use macros.
It is definitely not quick at all. It takes the average person 3 months (playing 1 hour a day) to earn 1 million with that method.
I personally suggest iron mining until you get 60 mining and 30 smithing, when you'd smith steel bars. The former is 50% faster than lobster fishing, while the latter is 5-6 times faster.antispyware earrings for wholesale

Step 3: Insert earplugs and turn music up loud
Step 4: Take lobster and place into the boiling water.
Step 5: Set timer for about 2 minutes.
Step 6 : Walk away

I have never boiled one but the way I would like to try is to do it like we do crawfish here in Louisiana...
get a big pot of water boiling, add salt, a stick of butter, a large handful of cajun seasoning, onion, garlic, lemons quartered
boil til done and dig in!
Boil it! Throw it is boiling water. That will kill it and cook it.

Three methods:
1) Knife through head between the eyes
2) Straight into a pan of boiling water
3) Put it in cold water and bring it up to boiling point (this is supposed to be humane but personally I think it's the worst method!)
Or consume it raw! (only joking)
Boil the water in a large pot Keep the lobster in the sink until you're ready. When the water is boiling (and seasoned) put the lobster in the pot and close the lid.
the best way is to get a big pan of boiling water and put it in, still alive. It sounds nasty but that is how you do it! It will turn red when it is done, and its very tasty!!

Maine Lobsters are superb when cooked the traditional way by simply steaming or boiling.
To Boil: Fill a large lobster pot three-quarters full of salted water (use 1 tablespoon of salt for each quart of water). Bring the water to a rolling boil. Put the lobsters in the pot, making sure they're completely submerged. Cover the pot and begin timing, maintaining the boil, as follows:
1 - 2 pound lobsters: approximately 18 minutes
2 pound or larger lobsters: 22 - 25 minutes
To Steam Lobsters: Put about 2 inches of salted water in a large pot (use 1 tablespoon of salt for each quart of water). Put the lobsters in the pot, and cover tightly. Begin timing, and boil for the times listed above.
To partially cook your lobsters for reheating and eating later, follow the instructions above but subtract 5-7 minutes from the cooking time. After you've par-cooked them, dunk them in cold water for 3 minutes, drain, and refrigerate. You can finish cooking them any time up to 48 hours later.

1. Twist off both lobster claws where they meet the body. Break off the knuckles where they attach to the main part of the claw.
2. Crack the claws, using a nutcracker, pliers, or even a hammer if the shell is very hard. Pick the meat from the claws.
3. Use a small fork or pick to pick the meat from the knuckles.
4. Separate the lobster tail from the body by bending the tail back and using a twisting motion. Break off the flippers by bending them back. You'll find tidbits of meat in the flippers.
5. Insert a fork into the end of the tail where the flippers break off and push out the chunk of tail meat. Remove the black vein that runs down the middle of the tail.
6. Remove the small legs attached to the body, and suck the bits of lobster meat from each leg.
7. Crack the body apart lengthwise. Pick the meat from the body cavities with a small fork or pick. The body contains ';tomalley,'; the lobster's liver. Tomalley turns green when cooked, and many consider it a delicacy. A simple recipe for the lobster,

What are some great ways to prepare my hand caught lobster while in the mountains???
I am going camping in my local San Diego mountains and would like some ideas on how to prepare, cook and garnish my lobster dish. Thanks for your creative answer...Tom Science 4What are some great ways to prepare my hand caught lobster while in the mountains???
Nice! Lobster is delicious and easy. All you need to do, is boil some water and throw that sucker in there! Wait till its shell turns that red colour, then just wait for a while after it turns red (about 10-15 minutes). Put him on a plate.
Now for sides, my personal preference is to have melted butter (real butter, not margirin) with a little bit of lemon juice squeezed into it. Make sure that before you eat the lobster to eat a little parsley to clear your pallette on your tongue (this will excentuate the taste of the lobster). On the side, a good thing to have is rice products (wild rice soup, rice pillaff, brown rice), or potatos will probably be your best bet on a camping trip.
I'm jealous of the time you're gonna have =(
peace and love,

Lobster in the mountains?I bet you caught it at Ocean Beach Pier. I just steam it and eat it with wasabi sauce. Mix wasabi with soy sauce, fish sauce, lemon, and thai chili. But not too much wasabi and fish sauce. This sauce always works around the bonfire.
LOL, Meeza has been to the same cooking school as me.
Merry Xmas!
I know nothing about cooking lobsters or camping or San Diego. First, I'm not sure how you hand-catch a lobster in the mountains, but having never been to San Diego (there are mountains there??...hmm, everyone thinks NY State is just a huge city, too). Hey, I'll give it a shot. Start a campfire. Stomp on the lobster with your crampons until the shell is broke open. Roast it until the eyes pop out. Garnish with the nearest batch of pine needles. This is why no one comes to my house for dinner.

How should people eat Lobster - do people eat the claws and head as well?
i bought a cooked frozen lobster from the store. It is in the pack and has its claws etc attached. Also I think it has a head %26amp; tail - it is a complete lobster but it has already been cooked as it is red.
How does one go about eating it? will i have to take out the guts - like with a fish? Are the claws eatable and the head as well? Also does it have a shell - how do i get it off easily?
What is the best thing to serve it with (apart from Tartar sauce :) )?How should people eat Lobster - do people eat the claws and head as well?
Other than Tartar sauce you can use.... a mixture of mayo, tabasco sauce and a little regular tomato ketchup...
Most people start by breaking off the legs. Holding the lobster by the back, gently pull off the legs with a twisting motion.
Don't throw these away: there are plenty of delicious morsels inside!
Next, take off the claws, which are also called chelipeds.
Tear them off at the first joint, again with a gentle twisting motion, and note that the crusher claw usually is bigger than the tearing claw.
Gently remove the loose part of the claw. Again, check for especially tasty morsels in small parts!
Using a nutcracker, break off the tip of the large section of claw, revealing the meat.
With your forefinger, push the meat from the tip of the claw out the larger open end.
Notice the mouth parts, antennae, antennules, and rostrum or beak, all of which are inedible.
Grasp the tail portion with one hand, and the back with the other hand.
Twist to separate the two sections.
After that, turn to end of the tail which has small flippers, or telsons, at the base.
These provide tasty if miniscule chunks of meat to those who don't mind a little extra work.
Arguably, the best part of the lobster (the debate rages between tail lovers and claw lovers) is the tail meat.
Then insert your fingers into the telson end to push the tail meat out intact through the larger opening.
Peel off the top of the tail to reveal the digestive tract, which should be removed before eating the rest of the tail meat.
Intrepid diners who explore further find small chunks of meat inside the carapace, the hard shell or body of the lobster.
They may also encounter the gills, the circulation system, and green ';tomalley';(the digestive gland) and in a female lobster, red ';coral'; or ';roe'; (the unfertilized eggs). Hard-core lobster lovers eat the latter two.How should people eat Lobster - do people eat the claws and head as well?
Cut down the middle with a good sharp knife. Crack the claws (gently) and take out the meat. Melt some butter and put in a wee dish and dip dauds of lobster into it before eating. Very messy, but very tasty. I like to melt a couple of tinned anchovies into the butter, and stir them until part of the sauce, squeeze of lemon, and good crusty bread to soak up the left-overs.Sorry, starting to drool. Enjoy .P.S. I suck the tasty stuff from the head after taking the tail meat out but, it's not compulsory. Not everyone is as fond of crustaceans.
Lobster is a crustacean; which means in has a shell.
The tastiest meat is in the claws; the tail is the biggest part.
There is nothing edible in the head, twist off %26amp; discard.
You may need a sharp knife to split the tail in half.
Use nut crackers to crack the legs %26amp; claws.
You need a set of eating irons to get the meat out of the claws.

Can i eat a lobster or a crab without cook it ?
i saw a video on youtube about how to eat a crab he eat it without cook it
so i'm wonderingCan i eat a lobster or a crab without cook it ?
well I would advise a ceviche.Can i eat a lobster or a crab without cook it ?
I'm not sure there are that many animals that you absolutely cannot eat raw; the ones that are probably poisonous. Since most most lobsters and crabs aren't poisonous, it prob is safe. However, since certain parasites like invading these animals, you would probably be better off cooking them first.
If it came from a non polluted source you probably could, but as a rule they are already cooked, (they are pink)
Sure why not? You should eat the entire thing. The shells are the tastiest part.
It is not advisable
u should just cook them. they just taste way better.
No, it will choke you

How old do you have to be to work at red lobster?
Hey I live in arizona. (directly behind the red lobster)
we just moved here from california.
I am 16 and I have plenty of work experience (family owned 3 busniesses). I have my GED and I am not doing school.
I applied at red lobster for a prep cook / host position and they are hiring. The do have liqour there tho. but I wont be anywhere near the bar.
Can I work there??How old do you have to be to work at red lobster?
I believe you can, as long as you are not in any position that you would be serving alcohol. If you work in the back of the house you should be fine. your best bet is to stop in and ask the manager, he or she will definitely know the answer to the question. When you go in make sure that you are dressed appropriately, business/casual will be your best bet.
if you have already turned in your application, wait about 4 days before you stop in. when you go ask about the status of your application, and then just ask them about the liquor laws. make sure you keep a positive attitude, and let them know that you are really interested in working, and tell them that you are willing to work whatever position they need, you were just curious about where you could work being only 16 and that you weren't sure about the alcohol thing.
Good Luck, remember to look good and smile it will give off a positive vibe. How old do you have to be to work at red lobster?
you can't serve until your 19 i believe but your old enough to be a host, busser, dishwasher good luck.
I believe the age is 18 if you are not working near the bar. Although this will vary depending on state. ( I have no idea what the age is in Arizona)
Since your not Handling the Alcohol your fine

Spearfishing in Puerto Rico?
I'll be traveling to Rincon, Puerto Rico next Thursday and will be staying at a place on the beach for 10 days...I am bringing my spearpoles and am hoping to catch some fish and lobster to cook up at the house...I've done plenty of spearfishing with spearpoles but I've never tried to catch lobster...any suggestions on how to catch these??Spearfishing in Puerto Rico?
Hi
You are not allowed to spearfish/sling the lobsters, but you can take them by hand or
lace, they need to be 3.5 inches from the eyes to the begining of the tail.
You will find the lobsters better at night with a flash lite in shallow waters,or in day time in the coral reefs, inside holes or crevices, .
There is a subspecies, that dont grow as large, but are xtremely tasty, no size limit, just dont take the ones with eggs.
Hope this helps, this is my email , if you need more help.

Boiling Lobster how much salt for 9L of Water.?
I'm going to be cooking 2 lobsters in a pot with roughly 9L of water how much salt should i need? thanks. - ExBoiling Lobster how much salt for 9L of Water.?
I don't use plain salt - I use Creole seafood boil......1 pkg or about 4 tablespoons should do. Don't forget the melted butter!Boiling Lobster how much salt for 9L of Water.?
Why not steam them instead? Put some herbs like bay leaves, chili flakes, salt and peppercorns and such in the water you will use to steam. If you boil them, you will have the same outcome as with boiled crab. Water that tastes like lobster, and lobster which tastes like water. Please try steaming. It's much better.
A couple of teaspoons will be sufficient, and for heaven sake, please remove the bands on the claws if they are on there. Those are rubber and they will flavor the claw meat if you leave them on and boil your lobsters.

How can I get a tan before moving to Hawaii?
I'm moving to Hawaii summer 2011 and I don't want to move without getting a base tan. The problem is that I don't tan... at all. I have a tendency to burn, and burn badly. I went to the Bahamas 2 years ago a caucasian female and came back a cooked lobster. I don't want the same thing to happen when I move to Hawaii.
I'm in the health field. I know that tanning beds are bad for you. A lot of radiation is involved in tanning beds. Is there a secret way around going to the tanning salon? Or is that perhaps the best way to do it?
Suggestions? How can I get a tan before moving to Hawaii?
There are some pills you can take with vitamin A in them that make you get sort of an Orange tan which looks much better than lobster color and is much safer healthm se.
Only tourists care about tans in Hawaii. The locals don't care in fact they know staying out of the sun is intelligent and many use umbrellas to protect them from the heat and sun.
Since you'll be living there you don't need a tan. Only tourists who want to show off when they get back home care about that.
White is beautiful so stop anting to be something you're ;not. You can marry a darker person so your kidss will be born with a tan if it means so much to you.
hybrids are generally great looking and healthy. Dark people often find white skin attractive just like light skinned people find darkness attractive. Accept yourself for who you are and love yourself the way you are.
Skin color is not what is important. Its the heart and the smile.'How can I get a tan before moving to Hawaii?
Easy peasy. Get a spray tan!! It's even, it looks natural, and it will last about 2 weeks!! I am in the health profession too, and I always use a spray tan for special occassions - holidays, weddings, fancy parties etc. I go into a salon and get it done properly.
Step 1
Buy an all natural product to tan your body
Step 2
Choose a product such as a cosmetic bronzer that does not have health risks. Bronzers come in powders, lotions and creams and can create the tanned look in just moments. The best part about the bronzer tan is that it can be washed at night and reapplied when needed.
Step 3
Invest in a tanning spray. To tan smart you must consider all options and tanning sprays are cost effective and safe. Many popular cosmetic lines carry tanning sprays that are free of alcohol, perfumes and other dangerous chemicals.
Step 4
Put on a good amount of suntan lotion if you must lie in the sun to get a tan. Reapply the suntan lotion often if you want to tan smart. Too much exposure to the UV (Ultraviolet) rays can ultimately lead to skin cancer, severe sun burns and dry skin.
Step 5
Cover your eyes and stay out of the sun during the afternoon when the sun is strongest.
Step 6
Ask your doctor their input how to tan smart, especially if you are on medication. Some medications can react harmfully if your body is exposed to too much UV light.

How can I cure 3rd degree burns on my cat?
Last night there was a little mishap at my home that involved my cat getting badly burned. We were cooking lobster to celebrate my sons bar mitzvah and after I dropped the lobsters into a boiling pot of water, my cat jumped in after them. The cat spent about 30 seconds in the water before we were able to get him out with metal tongs. Obviously most of his hair is gone from the accident, and he is continuously howling in pain and its driving me nuts. Is there an ointment I can use on the cat to shut him up?How can I cure 3rd degree burns on my cat?
The only way the trolls will go away is if we stop feeding them. A few months ago this clown was holding a funeral for a possum. How can I cure 3rd degree burns on my cat?
WHY was the cat not taken immediately to the emergency vet? Party or no party - you had the obligation to take her to the vet immediately. If a child had been badly burned with 3rd degree burns, would you be sitting in the house doing the same thing?
Get the cat to the vet NOW. In fact, if the cat was in there 30 seconds, you are a very cruel person - I would have risked being burned to grab my cat in less then 5 SECONDS....geez.
Nothing you can do at home will help your cat. The seriousness of burns results in severe massive blood infection with severe fluid and protein loss from the body. Your cat will most likely die, even if you do seek medical attention as the time that has passed is vital to survival.
The pain your cat is in has to be unbearable, please be humane.
3rd degree burns are painful! Not only did your cat get burned, but he spent 30 seconds in boiling water! Do you understand how painful that is?
Take him to a vet, immediately. This is serious! Not a matter of just shutting him up. If you or your family was burned, you would take them to a doctor, not just get an ointment because their pain was annoying you.
I hope you are f'n kidding! That is ridiculous. TAKE HIM TO THE VET NOW!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT IS WRONG W/ YOU? HOW COULD YOU KEEP HIM IN THE WATER FOR THAT LONG? DID YOU SIT THERE AND WATCH AND HE SCRAMBLED TO GET OUT OF THERE???
TAKE HIM TO THE VET! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DIDN'T THINK OF THAT.
Btw, cats are not that stupid. WOW!
thats sick. i cant believe you let him do that. TAKE HIM TO THE VET. HE NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION . I CANT EVEN BELIEVE THAT YOU WANT TO SHUT HIM UP! IF THAT WAS YOU OR ONE OF YOUR FAMILY MEMEBERS YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN AT THE HOSPITAL IMMEDIATELY. WOW. I CANT BELIEVE THIS.
Cats aren't that stupid, but if by some chance it was, it would be out in less than 5 seconds. How do you know what degree burns your cat received?
How did the lobster turn out?
PS-Is lobster kosher?
PPS-Interesting. I also know such a man. Is his name Saul?
O M G!!!!!!!!!!! This better be a troll, if not, then please don't call yourself a pet owner!
This happened last night and YOU DID NOT go to the vet??? if you have, i am sure he would have given you something for the pain as well as bandaged your cat up!
you should be ashamed of yourself. Do you even know how much bacteria is in the air which can AND WILL cause your cat bad infections since she is burnt so badly!!!
She should be on antibiotics on top of other stuff as well!
ADD: just thinking about this is driving me insane! Even if you are a troll this is the worst way to get attention.
If you're not, then i would be ashamed to call myself human!
I can not comprehand how this is possible. I want to say so many things to you, yet i am holding my tounge back!
This is just wrong!
ADD AGAIN: Thank you Kitty from pointing that out. I usually check the person's profile when i think it's a troll,. but this just got me all worked up!
Even as a troll you are a wicked lilttle person just to think of something so evil up!

Remove meat from cooked lobsters. Cut meat into cubes and fry in a generous amount of butter (4 to 6 tablespoons) until very lightly browned (be careful not to burn the butter, or use clarified butter).
Heat milk; add to lobster meat and cook slowly for 5 to 10 minutes. Add heavy cream and bring just to the boiling point. Add salt and pepper to taste and a little paprika for color. If desired, stir in a dash of sherry for extra flavor. Garnish with sliced green onions or chopped parsley as desired.

Exotic-home?
my dearest cousin is having a rather huge fight with the rest of the family concerning where her wedding should be...she loves the ';destination wedding'; that people talked, read and dreams about...bali or maybe hawaii or somewhere in either south or north poles with the penguins = )lol...i am the closest to her.we are the best of friends.%26lt;the family%26gt; demands that i talk to her and make her change her mind and have her ';destination wedding'; at home instead
will lines like these help you think???
';moving %26lt;the family%26gt;requires 5 greyhounds or a whole boeing747...';
';grandma has a pacemaker...she can't go through the metal detector...';
';it is hot and humid in bali...everybody will look like cooked lobster on film...';
guess not...how do i do this?
i know whatever that i say will break her heart...Exotic-home?
Is your cousin planning on paying the airfare and hotel bill for everyone that she plans on inviting to her wedding? She really needs to think of the costs involved for all of the invited guests. Airfare is very expensive as well as hotel rooms and for her guests to pay for their own food. Then she is going to EXPECT after her guests pay their way to receive a gift.
The wedding ceremony does not have to be so extravagant as the ceremony is such a small part of the marriage. Why go into debt to say ';I do';. Have a nice wedding at home where no one has to take days and days off of work, spend lots of money just to attend a wedding.
If she has this NEED to be at an exotic destination, she can go there for her honeymoon and have a ceremony with her husband.
If your cousin's parents are paying for this wedding, they are the ones that have total control of the money and what they are willing to spend. So tell your Aunt and Uncle to set a LIMIT on what they will pay. This will solve the issue.Exotic-home?
You are very welcome and I wish the future bride and groom much happiness.
I think truthfully, that you just have to sit her down,and explain the truth of the whole thing..whether she likes it or not...or maybe you can say to her ';hey, look, you can get married, but, the family isn't going to be able to go...so, maybe you and your hubby to be, should go and get married ,then when you come back,,,we will party!!!';
Just respectfully remind her of the purpose of the wedding tradition -- for family and friends to stand as witness to the vows, and to hold both bride and groom accountable to those vows.
If family and friends can't travel to Antartica or Bali with the bride and groom, then the whole purpose of the wedding is lost.
It is her wedding, and I say she get married where she wants to.She could come back home after and have the reception and only take her closest friends to the wedding. You get married for love not to please everyone else. They should respect her decision,it is her day not there's.

Corn on the cob issue.?
My husband said we would bring fresh corn on the cob to a party on Sat. for 40 people! I just bought 50 ears. after I husk them and kill him, how long do I boil them, and does anyone have a creative way of presenting them to this party. The hosts are cooking lobsters for everyone and I know they don't want to boil more h2o in there home. Oh also they live 3 hours away. I need help.Corn on the cob issue.?
I'm reading a lot of different answers here. I've always boiled the corn for 8 minutes and it's perfect. You don't want to boil them too far in advance (they will shrivel up).
I'd probably cook them at home and then plop them in boiling water at the party to reheat them quickly (like as you're serving them just reheat as needed). If that's not an option you can wrap them in paper towel and microwave to reheat.
To present them....I'd make a pyramid out of them on platters. Get a large platter and just pile them up neatly into a pyramid shape.Corn on the cob issue.?
Wrap them in foil and put them under your hood on the way there. Nah, just kidding. Wrap them in foil, butter them, and put some of them in the oven, you could also, deep fry them, grill them, or boil them. Buy some of the aluminum food pans and layer them and warm them in the oven, make sure they are super hot! Lay some foil out on the counter and when your corn is done drop them in the aluminum pan. Immediately wrap the pan in excessive layers of aluminum foil to help hold in the heat and if possible try to find some large insulated bags to put them into after you have wrapped them. If you can't find an insulated bag then you could always use heavy blankets. By the way - you can also leave them all in the shucks, just peel the first layer or two off and run water over them, stick slices of butter in the remaining shucks and wrap them in foil and grill them, let the guest do their own shucking! You can still use the aluminum pan and foil idea to keep them warm for the trip!
I wouldn't worry about keeping them warm in transport. Cook them, put them in a disposable aluminum baking/serving pan (from the grocery store). When you get there ask the host to stick them in the oven on warm for 10-20 minutes. For a party serving them in half is also acceptable.
Cooking them in the husk will help keep them moist and the kernels from wrinkling (and its less work for you!) It can also be done in the microwave. Wrap in wet paper towel and cook 2-4 minutes. You may have to do this in batches with the quantity.
if you cook them in the husks (in fire or on bbq grill) you don't need to husk. Just soak for 20 minutes with the husks on, and then either lay them on the grill or in the coals of a fire (fire ring wood fire). Let them cook until the husks are niec and dried out, you can tear one open a little to check the kernels for doneness. Corn is SO good this way!! and you won't hurt your hands husking all that.
I love corn on the cob. Have you thought about grilling them? This is what I always do, clean the husk, leave the stem, spread butter, wrapped with foils really good to make sure all the steam trapped. Put into the oven for 350F for 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile, chopped cilantro, melted butter, add lime. Take out corn from the oven, lay them on the griller, make sure you brush them evenly... grill until a little burned.
This is off Emeril's website, which I use frequently for such questions when I cook. He's usually right.
';In a pot of boiling water, add salt and corn and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and carefully remove the corn with tongs to a serving platter. If desired, sprinkle with additional bay seasoning.';
I am a big fan of grilling corn on the cob. It's less heat in the kitchen. If you want to serve a little differently, prepare a mixture of semi-soft butter, mayo (low fat is okay), parmesign cheese (grated or the shaky kind), and some dried oregano. When you're grilling the corn, baste the corn with the mixture... it's really good.
';...after I husk them and kill him'; ha ha ha!
I would cook them on the grill in the husks. Then peel off the outer layer of burned husk, wrap spiral in twine to make them look pretty and put them in a basket with a big sunflower on the side of the handle.
Why don't you just husk them and then cook them at the party so they will be fresh.... We cook our corn on the cob about 6 minutes when it comes to a boil. Then take them out of the water and wrap in aluminum foil... hope this helps.
Take a barbeque pit and grill corn with husks peeled back but not completely removed. Afterwards drizzle with lime juice then sprinkle chili powder over ears.
i would boil same day for only 10 minutes then wrap them to keep them moist. i would melt alot of butter and brush the cobs down so they dont get dry. find cute corn holders and stcik them on a nice platter to present them

Is it ok to eat a live Lobster (Boiling a live lobster)?
as i read in Islam, it's forbidean to torture or punish any living thing with fire. then how about cooking a live lobster in a Boiling water? is that allowed? Is it ok to eat a live Lobster (Boiling a live lobster)?
Well technically that torture with water.. so I'm not sure.Is it ok to eat a live Lobster (Boiling a live lobster)?
I've always thought the practice of boiling a lobster alive is cruel... though that hasnt stopped me from eating it. I don't think i could cook it myself. Some chefs pull them apart and cut them up while they are still alive as well. though in all fairness, the lobstes closest land relative is a cockroach, so it may not have the brains to know its suffering. tough call.
HELLO,
AN INTERESTING QUESTION. THIS IS BETTER ASKED IN THE RELIGIOUS FORUM, NOT IN COOKING.
i would probably repost this under religion and spirituality.....not cooking.
i understand your train of thought, but the religion people might be able to better answer this for you.
take care.
Place the lobster in the freezer for approximately 1/2 hour before boiling. They say this is the most humane way to boil a live lobster.
Then in that circumstance you would have the kill it humanely and then cook it, and as a lobster has no blood and cannot be bled like an animal done in the Halal and Kosher methods of dietary laws , it would have to be dimembered and let stand until the bodily fluids have been drained, I was a chef and then there were times were I had to do lobster newburg and thermidor with a live lobster, and the chinese restaurants are the same cutting it into pieces when still moving and cooking it before the nerves have deadened.
well to really believe islam you must consider just how many HUMANS are killed by the followers of islam
boiling is faster than beheading or the ritual bleeding of the animals. who are hung by the hind feet to 'Drain the blood from the meat.'
( it can't be done )
but the insane rule is not the method of cooking
Lobster is a scavenger..
I hate these questions
If you are a faithful follower of old roman and muslim laws
YOU may not eat the most sweetest of meats
even though 90+% of us do..
if you dunk them into boiling water head first, they are dead immediately, so no torture.
(if you dunk them tail first .... ouch, I'd rather not think about it.)
You have to have a live lobster and put it in boiling water. Once a lobster is dead before it is cooked it becomes poison and you would not want to eat it.
Well you could be like others of the islam stab it, shoot it, cut off its genetals, cut of a limb, poke out its eyes... You get it how would you like to die slow as mentioned above or fast boiling????????

When cooking lobsters -how do you kill them if you don't want to boil them alive. Hit them on the head?
I admire your need to save an animal a painful death in order to eat it. But unfortunately there is no other way to eat a lobster. The only reason you have to boil lobster alive is because the meat will become poisonous and will make you sick if you don't boil the lobster. good luck with that I wish I could have someWhen cooking lobsters -how do you kill them if you don't want to boil them alive. Hit them on the head?
Boil them alive is the only way to kill themWhen cooking lobsters -how do you kill them if you don't want to boil them alive. Hit them on the head?
Drown them to death. Just make sure the water's not boling when you do it.
you could cut off their heads but i think they would still move...best to just bite the bullet and drop them in the boiling water..it's a lobster for god's sake...If you're that squeamish, don't eat them...LOL...Just kidding..
There are three ways to do this:
1) Put them in a cold oven and turn it on to 350 F. They'll be dead by the time the oven heats up.
2) Sever the nerve where the head joins the body. Use a chef's knife.
3) Put them in the boiling water alive. It will kill them very quickly.
Neither of these ways are very humane. I'd rather just throw them in the water, put a lid on the pot and try not to think about what I just did.
What I do is put them in a pot and pour beer in the pot. Pour enough to the point that the lobsters are feeding or should i say breathing it. It sorts of puts them to sleep before they die. Usually takes about 30 min. It will make your lobsters taste better too. Crab also..
tie them to a train track
or hold a pillow over their face
stick its antenna in a light socket?
slip arsenic into its food for months
wait until it dies of old age
can you drown a lobster?
hang it
Good question. You DO want to eat them, right? Whats wrong with boiling them alive? You don't want to hear their death churl, huh? Compared to them being smashed or dismembered, what do YOU propose?
Slaughter...its what's for dinner.
I'd say boil them alive... I dont know any other way!
Actually, hitting them on the head would be prolonged and a bit cruel. Boiling them is more merciful, as they immediately go into shock and die quickly. Even gassing them would take a long time.... :(
Slice with a knife between their eyes through the brain.
haha i don't know. they'll still feel it if they're unconcious.
To kill a lobster ';humanely'; you need to cut down his middle (make sure the claws are rubber banded first) and then draw the blade into his head. He will die instantly and with little pain.
Try freezing them, I think that when you lower their body temp they hibernate (go unconscious).
I use a shotgun...then you don't even have to cut them up!
Don't hit them in the head, honey.
Trey J there got the best advice. Follow his.

If you had the appliances and ingrediants in the world...?
How would you prepare and cook these:
Lobster %26amp; Huge king prawns? It's up to you whether they are served as 1 dish or 2.If you had the appliances and ingrediants in the world...?
I would just steam and serve with lemon wedges and/or butter. Serve with red potatoes or a carribean rice, and rum or vodka limeade. These fine foods are best in their purest form!If you had the appliances and ingrediants in the world...?
what are praws?i;m guessing crab.steam or bake themwith lots of butter.
All you would need is a big steamer pot. Put your lobster, prawns, some potatoes, corn and seasonings (ie-Old Bay), steam it all together and put it out in a bowl on the table. Make a nice salad and cornbread, some drawn butter and you've got dinner.

Runescape 99 Cooking Tips?
I am 76 cooking at the moment (current experience is 1,393,595) I wonder how much money i would need to spend to get to 99 cooking ASAP.( the experience needed for level 99 is 13,034,000). I was thinking cooking trout or tuna, but that'll take to much time. Should I cook lobsters??? Raw lobsters cost 409 coins each and cooked lobsters sell for 348 each atm. I need to know what kind of food I will need to cook to get to level 99 and how much money i would need to spend.
Even though I have 17M at the moment, i'm trying to save as much money as possible. Anything under 5M would be great.
Thanks :DRunescape 99 Cooking Tips?
Well, you have 11,640,405 exp to go. You lose 61 coins per lobster on average (not counting failures, if that still happens).
At 120 exp per lobster, you're getting 2 exp per 1 GP, so about 5.75M spent to get to 99. Of course, that doesn't count any lobsters you burn, so... Last I remembered, bass were pretty cheap on member servers since people wanted sharks.. That was a very long time ago though.
If you're shooting for 99 fast, you should be willing to spend a lot. I know you want to save, but you can do that with a money making skill later on. Of course, you could shoot for 99 fishing first to save even more, but that's an entirely different matter.Runescape 99 Cooking Tips?
what i did to get to 99 was cook raw lobsters..but then again i fished most of the lobsters and cooked them so i didn't have to spend that much money. but if i were you, i'd go with cooking lobsters. sharks are too expensive, it's a waste of money
Sorry man but your gonna have to go with sharks to speed it up, or Lobsters.. Sharks is the way to go. Just buy em raw sell em cooked :%26gt;
you should build up ur fishing lvl and just fish the lobsters yourself instead of buying them so you won't have to spend any money.

Sorry man but your gonna have to go with sharks to speed it up, or Lobsters.. Sharks is the way to go. Just buy em raw sell em cooked :%26gt;
you should build up ur fishing lvl and just fish the lobsters yourself instead of buying them so you won't have to spend any money.
Lobster tail - how to cook?
A local grocer has frozen lobster tails on sale (113-142g) and I since my husband and I plan on staying in for supper that night before we head to a house party, I thought I would treat him with one. I am already making a nice BBQ steak (we have great beef from his parents farm and I make a killer steak) but I have never cooked seafood before as I can't stand fish, seafood, shellfish, anything like that! What do I do? Boil it? BBQ it? How long do you cook it? I was going to serve it with butter with roasted garlic. I will also be serving roasted garlic mashed potatoes (his fave), salad, garlic bread and white chocolate cheesecake for dessert! Thank you!!! We're going to Mexico in a couple weeks so we don't want to spend a hundred bucks on a meal that I can make at home just as easily!Lobster tail - how to cook?

Do you eat lobsters?
Do you know how lobsters are cooked? The poor things are put into boiling water, while they are still alive and kicking! Lobsters should be banned, unless there is another way to cook them.Do you eat lobsters?
You can stab them with a knife right between the eyes before you throw them in if the cooking method is all that's bothering you.Do you eat lobsters?
sure-predict me
I love lobsters they are delicious!
Lobsters are animals, therefor vegetarians/vegans do not eat them, due to the cruel death that they have to go through, so yes lobsters(and other animals) should be banned!!
I used to but not anymore.
yeah lobster is AWESOME.. and it is VERY expensive here...so I eat it when I am in South America..and I can get them for pennies on the dollar..(or real or peso-or whatever the currency is)
Vegetarians dont eat seafood so asking this here is not appropriate.
No, vegetarians do not eat lobsters and this section is targetted at vegetarian and vegan diets
No, I don't eat arthropods like lobsters, shrimp, crabs, spiders, centipedes, flies, roaches, praying mantises, june bugs, scorpions, wasps, bees, ants, rolly pollys, butterflies, moths, dragonflies, walking sticks, fleas, lice, ticks, helgramites, midges, bed bugs, assassin bugs, bombadier beetles, millipedes, locusts, grasshoppers, caddis flies, lady bugs, mousquitoes, lacewings, cicadas, langostinos, whirligigs, fruit flies, gnats, katydids or silverfish.

They are not often kicking the rubber band prevent that.
:-(
I know, poor little things.
no one who is a regular in this section should eat lobsters
We are vegetarians. We don't eat lobsters. But, I know it's so sad the way they cook them!
Definently not. That's just cruel.
Lobsters are still animals even though most may not think of them as cute.
This is the vegetarian section.
you can break it and then use your favorit reciepy for or grill it . I try it boiling but it's fine.

I don't like seafood either, but my husband does. We pick up a boiled lobster at our supermarket whenever he is hungry for one. Ask the fish department to boil one for you.
All you need for lobster is melted butter and a tool for him to crack the shells.
As for the steak, cook it in the house like this:

Serve only with a tossed salad and maybe a dessert. I usually pick up a frozen Key Lime pie at the supermarket.
Cut your tails in half lenthwise. Mix some olive oil with minced garlic, lemon juice, black pepper and salt and coat your lobster in them. Heat your grill to medium high and place meat side down on the grates. Grill for 4-5 minutes, flip and repeat. Serve with melted butter with garlic and lemon in it. YUM

How do you cook frozen whole lobsters?
I got three frozen whole lobsters from a friend and I don't know how to cook them correctly please tell me how!How do you cook frozen whole lobsters?
Defrost them. If they are pink they are already cooked and just need re heating.
If a grayish the need to be boiled in a pot of boiling water for 5-10 minutes, depending upon size. How do you cook frozen whole lobsters?
Lobster is always cooked live. If it's frozen, it's not alive. Ergo, it's already cooked. You simply need to reheat it.
just steam them like you do your veg's

What is the best way to cook frozen crab legs and lobster tail?
I'm planning on steaming, but wonder if boiling is better? How long do I steam them? What is the best way to cook frozen crab legs and lobster tail?
All frozen crab legs are already completely cooked hence the red color. So just reheat them as quickly as possibe in boiling water for 3-4 minutes. For the lobster tail thaw first or it will not cook evenly. Split the tail down the center and expose meat. season and bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes for a 2-4 ounce tail. What is the best way to cook frozen crab legs and lobster tail?
Make a packet out of aluminum foil- place all the pieces inside -dress with olive oil, fresh herbs, and chopped garlic.
close the packet and bake in the oven for about 15+ minutes at 400 degrees. Jsut check it to see if they are hot all the way through.
Put the packet on a cookie sheet so it is easy to handle.
steam is nice boil takes the sweet juices away from the meat
steam them for sure. If you boil them the flesh might get all watery and flavour will get cooked out of them. Not sure exactly how long but for sure the crab legs will cook faster than the lobster tail, so put the tail in first.

Cooking frozen lobster? quick answer please!?
So I have 2 frozen lobsters (now thawed) that im cooking tonight, but im not exactly sure how. Do I basically just have to heat them up? Like boil them for a few mins till warm... or..? please help me, thanks so much!Cooking frozen lobster? quick answer please!?
Wish you asked this question before you thawed them, cause it would help to have a bit more time to go over some details. Are they whole lobsters or parts? Did you freeze them yourself? I've only seen parts frozen (ie Lobster tails). Since they should be cooked while alive, I'm wondering the history of yours.
If they were alive, I'd be agreeing with the other's who answered, since I think boiled/steamed is the best way to go. But since freezing changes the texture, I personally would likely opt for something with more seasoning and added flavor. But since you are cooking them tonight, there's not much time to find out what you have available or what type food you like. Two main styles that work well with lobster are Chinese and Italian. I adore a stir fried lobster in an oriental style, where you coat the lobster with cornstarch, create a light sauce (do you have any oriental/sauce type ingredients such as light soy sauce etc, sherry, chicken stock, oyster sauce, rice wine vinegar, etc?). You then quickly stir fry the lobster. In empty pan combine a variety of ingredients for the sauce....tons of options could help if I know what you had), garlic, green onions, ginger, and shallots. Stir fry, add drained lobster, mix and let thicken (the corstarch will help, plus adds a great texture to the lobster). That would be my first choice.
I could go on with other options, but it would really help to know what you have in the house, what type of food you like, how good your cooking skills are. And I still can't totally get back wondering if it's a whole lobster and if so how it came to be frozen lol. Also keep in mind that cooking times if boiling are VERY specific to the weight. An extra 2 or 3 minutes can make the difference between sweet and tender and chewy and tough!!!!
Good luck with it...lobster is SOOOOO yummy and hope yours eventually turns out that way!!
ETA when I was typing I see someone asked a good question....is the lobster raw! That would totally effect both how long to cook and what you might want to do with it! Remember overcooked lobster is tough and destroys it. Good way to tell if it's cooked is to see what color the shell is. If it's bright red it's been cooked.
If they are already cooked you might want to prepare a pasta to you liking, perhaps a garlic pasta. While it's cooking shell can cut the lobster meat then when the pasta is nearly finished add the lobster the last few minutes JUST long enough to warm it up, without cooking it more. Sure would help to know what you have and are working with!!!Cooking frozen lobster? quick answer please!?
You will need to thaw them out. If your in a hurry you can thaw them in a microwave. This is probably your only option. Traditionally, you would want to thaw them out by putting them in your refridgerator overnight.
You can boil it but it comes out a little better steamed
Frozen lobsters are usually already cooked. Can you call the store and find out?
Drop them into salted boiling water for 6 to 8 minutes, until they turn bright red.

How to purchase, prep, cook and eat a whole lobster?
I want to do a special dinner this weekend and thought lobster would be nice, except I haven't the faintest clue where to start. All I have ever had is prepared tails. How to purchase, prep, cook and eat a whole lobster?
Hello, I hope this helps. Good luck.
Picking Out Lobster
Live Lobster
Invariably, lobster quality is higher if it's alive at purchase and cooked the same day. Many markets and grocery stores have live lobsters available, or there are mail-order businesses that will ship live lobster to your door.
Any live lobster should be active in the tank, and curl its tail when lifted out of the water.
Once home, cook as soon as possible, or refrigerate, covered with a damp towel. Don't keep them in water or cover with ice; you don't want them to drown.
Freshly Cooked
Many fishmongers sell freshly cooked whole lobster. This is a great way to get the lobster if you don't have the time or inclinations to buy live.
Make sure the lobster is freshly cooked. If left in the shell for too long, the quality of the meat can degrade.
Frozen Tails
Frozen tails are good choices for quick, fresh lobster.
Available in a variety of sizes, these are perfect for throwing on the grill, or chopping into a saut茅.
Due to the freezing process, these won't be quite as good as whole lobster, but they can certainly be worth the convenience.
Boiling, Steaming, Broiling
Though classically cooked by boiling, there are other ways to cook lobster.
Boiling
Use two quarts of water for every pound of lobster.
Use enough salt to approximate seawater--about one tablespoon for every quart of water.
Put lobsters in the boiling water; when it returns to a boil, time for eight minutes. It will continue cooking in the shell, so when in doubt, removing early is better than overcooking.
Steaming
Use a couple of inches of salted water in a large pot, and cook according to the directions for boiling.
Dry flavorings, such as chili powder or Old Bay鈩?seasoning can be added to the lobster as it steams.
Broiling and Grilling
After preparing the lobster for grilling (see sidebar), split it down the middle with a heavy chef's knife.
Use basting sauces, herbs, and spices for extra flavor when grilling or broiling.
Cook for ten minutes on a hot grill. The shell will turn a charred red as it cooks; if it still seems underdone, tent the lobster with foil to allow it to fully cook off the direct heat.
Preparation
Cooking live lobster takes some preparation.
Keep the rubber bands on the claws if you are boiling or steaming. The bands will survive the cooking, and keep the lobsters from getting a hold of each other or, more importantly, you.
As steam escapes the shells, it creates noise. This is the infamous ';scream'; heard when boiling lobster. You can kill the lobsters with a knife before boiling or steaming, if you prefer.
Preparing for the grill involves killing the lobster first. They can either be boiled for 2 minutes, or you can use a knife. Take a sharp, heavy knife, place in the horizontal groove at the head, and cut with quick, downward force. This will sever the ';spinal'; chord, killing the lobster humanely.
Get Cracking
There is simply no dainty way to crack and eat whole lobster, but it might be possible to avoid an immediate trip to the dry-cleaners.
Pre-crack lobster for guests. Cut lengthwise through the underside of the tail with scissors. Don't cut the meat, just the shell underneath. Also, crack the claws ahead of time, just to save some of the pounding at the table.
Bibs. They might seem silly, but they more than make up for themselves when the lobsters start cracking.
Here are some Size facts:
Lobster Sizes
1 to 1 1/8-pound lobsters are called ';chickens.';
Up to 1 录 pounds are ';quarters.';
Up to 1 戮 are ';halves.';
To 2 陆 are ';selects.';
Above 3 陆 pounds are ';jumbo.';

1 to 1 1/8-pound lobsters are called ';chickens.';
Up to 1 录 pounds are ';quarters.';
Up to 1 戮 are ';halves.';
To 2 陆 are ';selects.';
Above 3 陆 pounds are ';jumbo.';
