How can i cook a lobster other than boiling?

here is my situation. bought a jumbo at the fish market. in maine on an extended buis trip. the lobster is too big for the pot provided by the hotel. no car access to go to wallmart to buy a bigger pot. can i just put the lobster in a cake pan/baking dish with water and bake it? lobster fits, but jusat barely. need to cook it tonight to make what i want for dinner tomorrow night.How can i cook a lobster other than boiling?

You can bake or broil the lobster in the oven. In these instructions they say to leave the green stuff in but I take all the mess out and clean the lobster throughly and leave only the meat in there and then bake or broil.How can i cook a lobster other than boiling?
Easy, now the hotel has a restaurant right!, then just go down to the kitchen explain the situation and borrow a big pan, easy right! Also dont forget to piut him in the freezer for a little, to slow him down





EDIT: Ok then you could try and kill him with a knife to the back of the head, then chop him into pieces and cook him that way
Do you have a grill? You coudl split it and grill it w/ lemon or lime and butter......





otherwise, yes, put it in the cake pan w/ boiling water and cover w/ foil, so it can steam. Bake at 425潞 or so for 30 min and then check on it. If you dont' have foil, use a flat cookie sheet and weight it down so the steam doesn't escape.
I would broil it with garlic butter. Baking it in a dish with water would work too. I hope you kept it cold on the extended bus trip, and cold at the hotel. You do NOT want food born illness.
call the fish market were you bought it and ask them if they have a steamer, and explain your problem to them. If they have a steamer I'm sure they will be happy to help and enjoy

maybe if you give him a sedative then baking in the pan would work, that way he won't thrash around..
