Crab vs Lobster? How do I cook them?

Okay, I personally never tried either one, but my husband loves them both and has not had them for over a year. Our fifth wedding anniversary is coming up and I want to cook him a dinner he will really love.


I need the directions to cook either and which one is better. Also, I don't have a clue as to what goes good with these, so any help would be wonderful...Crab vs Lobster? How do I cook them?
I would go with the lobster, now when your cooking them make sure that the water is boiling. When the water is boiling toss in about 1 tablespoon of pepper corns, 4 to 6 bay leafs, five stock,s of fresh parsley, 2 tablespoons salt and 6 whole lemons cut in half. let that boil for about3-5 minutes then your ready to drop the lobster,s in. cook the lobster between 7 to 10 minutes lets rest for 3 minutes then server with melted butter and minced garlic. good luck :o)Crab vs Lobster? It's hard not to overcook seafood unless you know what it is suppose to taste like.


Both are so yummy.

Broiled (grilled if you are in the UK)!





This recipe calls for individual thawed or defrosted lobster tails (one per person):





Split the tails, NOT from the underside, but through the top mound of the shell, starting at the tail and carefully forward - important that you use a heavy duty chef knife! Carefully twist the two halves upward from below, down the centre, until the two ';lobes'; are meat side up. Fan out the tail end and protect it by wrapping it in foil. Preheat your broiler and line the broiler pan or heat proof dish with foil.





Melt 1 stick (8oz or 125 grams) of butter until bubbling hot; finely mince one toe of garlic and one small shallot and place into a small heat-proof dish. Using a spoon or ladle, pour approx 1/3 of the boiling hot melted butter into the garlic and shallots and stir the mixture until the aromatics start to wilt and the butter begins to cool.





Spoon this cooled butter/garlic/shallot mixture over the meat in the tails. Sprinkle with fresh cracked pepper, kosher or ground sea salt and the juice of 1/2 of a lemon.





Place under the broiler, meat side up, approx 4-5 inches away from the flame. Broil until the meat is just cooked, approx 10-15 minutes, depending on how large the tails are.





Remove from heat and wait 5 minutes before the next step.





Carefully, using a small fork, loosen each lobe from their shell - the meat will pop out and sit beautifully over the under-laying shell. Remove foil from tail and present plate to an appreciative dining companion! Serve with remaining melted butter as a dip.








Lobster is a very rich meat. It's best served with a fresh garden salad, dressed simply with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Steamed mixed veggies; carrots, cauliflower, mange tout, etc over jasmine rice.





Dessert is better off not being deeply rich or heavy.

serve with melted butter and lemons, corn on the cob, roasted potatoes, and coleslaw or a green salad
You can steam them (either one) or boil them.


If you boil them cut up a lemon and put it in the pot. Also....if you decide on crab, there is something called ';crab boil'; that you can buy at the grocery store.





Steamed veggies and garlic mashed potatoes or baked potatoes (with all the fixin's) are good accompaniments for either.

Boil in water and eat with butter is so simple. but there are a lot of recipes that will give it great flavor.
