or can i buy it at my grocery store already cooked and if so how do i prepare it?Do you have to cook lobster alive?
No--you can cook the frozen tails. They are available in most grocery stores in the seafood department.Do you have to cook lobster alive?
You can kill it before you cook it, if you want to, but do so as close to the cooking time as possible to preserve the freshness of the meat. A chef's knife straight down through the back of the head/neck is quick and easy. You could, instead of killing it, throw it in the freezer for about a half an hour. It'll still be alive, but it's incredibly unresponsive, so there's no real concern about it ';suffering.';
As far as already cooked stuff, you can do anything from steam to saute to microwave. Just be careful. It's already cooked, so you're just reheating it. Be careful not to overcook!
No you do not have to cook lobster live. in fact most restaurant you go to use frozen lobster tails, very few actually do live anymore. You can pick up lobster frozen, thaw it out, and steam, bake, or even grill it.............
If your store sells it pre-cooked, just make sure it's not ';mock'; lobster. The best is to boil a live one, it is all about freshness.
Some stores sell lobster meat or immitation lobster but you can't buy a cooked lobster anywhere but a restaurant. Besides, why wouldn't you want to cook them alive and get the freshest meat you can?
It is the traditional way for a thousand years
It is fast
some stores MAY cook it
same way boil it
