How to cook Lobster?

please give me a recipe or sum info on how to cook a lobster..fresh (in the shell).How to cook Lobster?
the lobster that you're gonna cook should essentially be alive(and moving) when you put in a deep pan of boiling water...otherwise its just not ';fresh';...


tie up the claws so they don't hurt ya....and you get special lobster pots...but a deep pan would do fine...or a stockpot...


put enough water in it to completely cover the lobster and put a lid on it...





there are plenty of recipes that needs you to put a few of the ingredients like lemon juice, or vinegar into the water while the lobster's boiling, in order to let 'em seep in....and there are many where you take the meat out and then add the other stuff....

You can grill on BBQ that's excellent


or bake in oven


any way you cook you just want to meat to turn opaque that means its done...


I DO NOT like to boil.........loose too much flavor


but to grill or bake just have some melted butter handy to brush every couple minutes.


It's that simple
Well firstly they don't scream! They don't have vocal cords but sometimes you will hear a squeaking sound as gas escapes from the shell when they are thrust into boiling water.


To boil first place a damp cold cloth over the lobster and place in the freezer for around 10 minutes. This will sedate the lobster and make it still. Bring a large pot to the boil and when at a good rolling boil drop the lobster in head first. It will die extremely quickly. Boil for 8 minutes per 500g and then remove and leave to rest.


If you are grilling them you will need to kill the live lobster with a knife. Place the tip of a large chefs knife on the back of the lobster's head between the eyes and thrust the knife downwards smoothly before bending back to slice the lobster in half lengthways. This will sever the spinal cord and kill the lobster quickly.


As for recipes try the famous Lobster Thermidor or simple boiled lobster with garlic infused butter and french bread.

Mikey is exactly right! But i always add some Old Bay庐 seasoning to the water. YUM!
i used to work at pappadeaux.... you wanna know what they did?? they took the poor thing out of this tank... and dumped it in boiling water, ALIVE! it killed me inside. its one of the big reasons why i quit. did you know lobsters can live up to like 50 years (maybe more).... your killing something that has been alive so all those years.....
big pot boil the water and stick lobster in once water boils because if you put them in the water first they will scream as the water is boiling.. cook for about 20mins
I made fresh whole lobster at home once, and here's the very BEST way to cook lobster:


Put on some pretty clothes, grab your mate or some good friends, and go OUT to a restaurant!!


(It was gross, messy, stinked up the whole house, and generally just not worth it)
boil them in some water but make sure u season the lobster and the water...
