If you are Boiling them the rule of thumb is 1 minute per oz of the tail. So a 4-6 oz lobster tail will be cooked for 4 to 6 minutes.





In a large pot add enough water to cover how many tails you are boiling , add 1 tsp. of salt per quart of water you have. Bring to a boil, drop the thawed lobster tails in after the water returns to a boil reduce the heat and begin timing.

For me, when the lobster meat turns white, it's done.
You put them into the pot of water, you bring the water to a boil, turn the temperature to a light boil, when a white foam starts appearing on the surface, they're done.
