How to cook lobster tail. Do I have to cut the shell in half to cook the meat?

Like to know Thank UHow to cook lobster tail. Do I have to cut the shell in half to cook the meat?
If it is pink/red it is already cooked, other wise it just needs to be steamed, or briefly boiled until it is a nice pink colour.

prepare a boil with 1 onion,1 lemon 6 garlics 3 bay-leaves 25 black pepper corns 5 alspice whole ,a tsp of nutmeg and 3 T. salt in 3 quarts of good water 0-bring this to a boil and drop in the tail ,when it truns from gray to bright red /pink take it out of the water and with a shears snip along the sides of the tail ,pull the tough membrane away from the snowy white meat ,then pull the meat out with a fork ,cut it into bite sized pieces and dip them into lemon garlic butter,then pop them into your mouth








lemon garlic butter :





2 cubes(1/2 pound )salted butter ,melted and skimmed


juice of two large lemons


1 tsp lemon rind


2 cloves of fresh garlic ,pressed


a pinch of salt and a grind or two of fresh ground black pepper


simmer til white stuff in bottom of pan has collected ,pour the yellow part of the butter into a votive dish and light a tea lite under it to keep it warm ,serve at once with freshly cooked lobster tails -enjoy
No. You can steam, roast, or boil as is.
I like to split them in half then through then on the grill.
