I once had a meal at a restaurant where I had steak and lobster, but I'm not really sure how the lobster was cooked. It was the first and only time that I've ever had lobster and it was great! The other day at the grocery store lobster tails were on sale so I bought two and now I don't really know how to cook them. Does anyone have any ideas?I have two lobster tails. How can I cook them?
To get the best flavor and texture from frozen lobster tails they should be thawed prior to cooking.
It is possible to cook frozen tails but doing so will produce a tough less tasty meat
Boiling thawed frozen Lobster is really easy.
Fill a pot with enough water to cover the Lobsters you are cooking,
Add about one tbsp salt per quart of water
Heat the water to a rolling boil
Drop the Lobsters into the boiling water
Cook for about 1 minute per ounce of Lobster
Steaming is similar except you will use less water. You will need a steaming basket that can hang into the pot but not reach into the water and a tight lid.
Put 1 to 1 陆 inches of water into pot.
Add salt (1 tbsp per quart of water)
Heat the water to boiling
Hang the steaming basket into the pot
Cover with heavy Lid (If you don't have a heavy lid sit a brick or rock on top to hold the lid down)
Cook them for 7 to 8 minutes
Just remember, be careful and watch out for the hot steam when you open the pot and remember that the pot, lid, strainer and Lobsters will all be extremely hot.
Serve the Lobster on a platter with some hot clarified butter and you are ready to feast.I have two lobster tails. How can I cook them?
The best way is to first steeped the lobster in really hot water for about a minute or two and then immediately shock it in cold icy water. After they are chilled, proceed to split the tails in half directly at the center. Add a bit of salt and pepper and olive oil to the par-cooked lobster tail and then placed it in a hot pan to sear it. This should take around 3-5 minutes depending on the size of the lobster tail and then finish it by placing it in the oven at about 400 degrees for 1-2 minutes. For finishing touches, add a slice of butter and and a squeeze of lemon. Enjoy it with a bake potatoe or mashed, whatever way you like it.
Split them the long way down the middle with a cleaver, sharp knife or a serrated bread knife (my favorite). Do not cut all the way through though. spread the lobster shell apart to allow about a 1 inch gap. season with lemon pepper, onion powder then two pats of butter inserted vertically into the meat. Do this to the second tail as well. Place on a broiler pan on low and broil lined with aluminum foil for about 5 to 10 minutes or until done all the way through. Do not overcook.
You can also BBQ these the same way just make a ';boat'; for each out of foil to catch the scrumptious juices and butter.
You can put them in a pot of boiling water and melt butter to dip,or you can cook them on the grill, or broil them! Hope this helps!

look here, although the package should tell you, I am assuming they are frozen, right?
I can't remember how long to boil them, but boil them so that they are mostly cooked, and broil them to finish. Add a little lemon and butter with some salt and pepper.

Baked Lobster Tails
4 (6-ounce) frozen lobster tails
Melted butter
Lemon slices
Defrost lobster tails overnight in the refrigerator. When defrosted, cut the upper shell down the center of the back with scissors, leaving tail fan intact. Do not remove the under shell. I run my little finger between the meat and the shell to loosen from each other. Lift uncooked tail through the slit to rest on the top of the shell (this is called a piggyback lobster tail.)
NOTE: At this stage, the lobster tails maybe refrigerated until ready to bake. Cover with plastic wrap to prevent drying out.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place lobster tails on a baking sheet, brush each with butter, and bake approximately 15 minutes. Remove from oven.
Serve immediately with melted butter and lemon slices.
Makes 4 servings.
